This is a switching layout, point to point. SWP is a regional carrier located in the Imperial Valley of California. SWP purchased trackage from the Union Pacific in 1998 from Niland to Calexico, CA with trackage rights to Phoenix, AZ and West Colton, CA. While predominately agriculture, SWP also dabbles in intermodal and ethanol business. Sugar beets are still running the rails in 2024 with many (former SP) re-built wood beet gondolas, hauling sugar beets during each season. The layout is controlled by Digitrax DCC and the Engine Driver phone app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
